Restoring Natural Position
The passage of time, breastfeeding, or weight changes can cause breasts to lose their firmness and sag. Breast Lift (Mastopexy) isn’t necessarily about changing your size, but about reorganizing your own tissue. Our goal is to relocate the areola to its ideal position and remove excess skin so that your breasts regain their projection and look aesthetically youthful and supported.
How is the procedure performed?
We evaluate the degree of sagging (ptosis) and the quality of your skin. We perform precise markings while you are standing to determine the new location of the areola and the nipple.
We carefully remove sagging skin. If you have sufficient volume, we use your own tissue to “self-fill” the upper pole; if volume is lacking, we can combine it with a small implant or fat from your own body.
We lift the areola-nipple complex to a more central and aesthetic position, correcting asymmetries.
We perform the closure using meticulous techniques to minimize skin tension and ensure that the scars (usually around the areola and in an inverted “T”) are as aesthetic as possible.
Recommendations for your well-being
Before surgery:
It is essential to have a recent mammogram or breast ultrasound (less than 6 months old) to ensure the health of the tissue.
Moisturize the cleavage area daily in the weeks leading up to surgery to improve skin elasticity.
Stop smoking completely 4 weeks before, as nicotine seriously affects the circulation necessary for healing.
After surgery:
Use the post-surgical bra day and night during the first month to support the tissues at their new height.
Once the stitches are removed, we will instruct you on the use of silicone sheets or special creams to promote the aesthetic maturation of the scar.
Do not lift your arms above shoulder level or carry heavy weights for 6 weeks to avoid tension on the sutures.
Strictly sleep on your back during the first few weeks.
