Symmetry and Confidence
The Balance Your Face Needs
Ears frame the face, but they should not be the center of attention. When they are prominent or asymmetrical, they can distract the eye from your other features. Otoplasty seeks to reposition and reshape the cartilage so that the ears integrate harmoniously with the head. It is an intervention of precision and detail, designed so that the result looks completely natural and allows you to wear your hair up or move with total freedom and security.
How is the procedure performed?
We analyze the structure of your cartilage and the angle of separation of the ears. We determine the exact technique to achieve the correction you are looking for.
We perform a small incision in the posterior sulcus of the ear (behind it). This ensures that the scar remains completely hidden and is imperceptible to the naked eye.
We don’t just “pin” the ear back. We sculpt the cartilage to recreate natural folds and ensure that the new shape is aesthetic and permanent.
We suture carefully and apply a soft bandage that will protect the new position during the first days of recovery.
Recommendations for Your Well-being
Before Surgery:
Basic coagulation laboratory tests.
Wash your hair thoroughly the night before or the day of the surgery, as you won’t be able to get the area wet during the first few days. On the day of the procedure, please keep your hair tied back.
Inform about the use of anticoagulants and aspirin, and suspend supplements such as Omega-3, Vitamin E, Garlic, and Ginkgo Biloba 15 days prior to the procedure to avoid excessive bruising.
After Surgery:
It is essential to wear a soft headband or elastic band day and night during the first month to keep the ears in their new position and protect them while you sleep.
Sleep strictly on your back for the first 3 weeks to avoid any direct pressure on the ears.
The wound is behind the ear; we will show you how to clean it gently. The stitches are usually removed after 10-12 days.
Be careful when combing your hair or putting on clothes over your head (use button-down shirts) to avoid accidentally pulling on your ears.
