Texture and Regeneration

Renew Your Skin Quality

Our skin holds the memory of acne, the sun, and the passage of time. The Fractional CO2 Laser is the most powerful tool to “reset” that memory. Unlike older lasers, this technology works through micro-columns of heat, leaving bridges of healthy skin that accelerate healing. It is the ideal treatment if you are looking to close pores, smooth acne scars, or simply restore a smooth, uniform, and vibrant texture to your face, always under the expert supervision of Dr. Andrea.

What is the procedure like?

We apply a potent topical anesthetic cream for 30 minutes before the session or perform it under sedation. This makes the procedure very tolerable and comfortable.

Dr. Andrea passes the laser handpiece over the areas to be treated. You will feel a localized heat sensation. The device scans the skin and emits fractional light beams that penetrate the deep dermis to activate regeneration.

Upon finishing, the skin will be red, and you will feel a stinging sensation similar to a strong sunburn. We apply repairing creams and local cold to soothe the skin immediately.

Between days 3 and 5, the skin will begin to peel (micro-crusts). It is a natural process where the old skin sheds to reveal the new, pink, and soft skin underneath.

Recommendations for your well-being

Before the surgery:

It is vital not to have been exposed to direct sunlight or to have used tanning beds for at least 1 month prior. The laser cannot be performed on tanned skin.

Discontinue acids (retinoic, glycolic) or irritating treatments 1 week before.

If you have a history of cold sores (herpetic cold sores), please let us know so we can prescribe a preventive antiviral.

After the surgery:

Sun exposure is strictly prohibited during the recovery process. You must apply dermatological sunscreen every 3 hours, even if you are staying indoors.

Apply the repairing creams we will indicate to you several times a day. The skin requires intense hydration while it is regenerating.

Allow the skin to fall off on its own while gently washing your face. Picking at the scabs can leave marks.

You will be able to wear makeup again once the peeling process is finished (usually after 5 to 7 days).
